In 1969 Karl Zetterberg and his wife Jane began a small construction company out of the desire to build a quality home for clients, provide a living for their growing family, and bring glory to Jesus Christ. Building has always been a family affair. Integrity, patience, honesty, and diligence are the pillars the business is built upon — the family name depends on it.
South Sound magazine partnered with Zetterberg Custom Homes to feature the 2025 Northwest Idea House in Gig Harbor — the third time the magazine has collaborated with the builder on an Idea House. The residence brings together design, technology, and luxury amenities in a home built for family life among the trees.
Building custom homes is the craft. Over decades the process has been fine-tuned for the discerning client — and the work continues, with the experience meant to be enjoyable and rewarding.
Over the past 45 years the building process has been refined to meet the needs of the discerning custom home client. The work ahead is the same as it has always been: quality homes, and an experience that is enjoyable and rewarding.
In 2008 the company expanded into remodeling. The work is personal: a house opened to a contracting team that becomes, for a season, an extended part of the family.
Greg Zetterberg works with clients through Zetterberg Gregory Design to shape custom homes and remodels. The process is intended to be stress-free, focused on what the client wants, while always keeping the budget in mind.
Zetterberg offers distinctive homes in a variety of new communities — upscale neighborhoods near shopping, dining, and freeway access, without compromising the charm of a quieter setting. Each bears the hallmark of first-class craftsmanship. Furnished model homes are available to visit.
Karl and Jane raised four boys, and to their surprise all of their sons went into the family business. Currently the boys run a thriving construction company that has expanded into all areas of construction, serving clients all across the Puget Sound.
Ever since they can remember, the sons have been on a jobsite working with their hands, learning alongside their dad.
Zetterberg is proud to support organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Make-A-Wish, Young Life of Puyallup, Faith Seminary, Foursquare Missions, New Beginnings Home, Reality Sports, Angel Wings Foundation, and Family Renewal Shelter.
